Maxthon (ranije poznat kao MyIE2) je besplatni MDI browser, baziran na jezgru Internet Explorera (za pravilan rad potreban je IE 5 ili noviji, a preporucuje se barem IE 5.5 - iako Maxthon može da koristi i Gecko jezgro!). Šta znači "MDI browser (web čitač)"? Jednostavno, to znači da Maxthon može da otvori više web strana u okviru jednog prozora, a da pri tome troši znatno manje sitemskih resursa (memorije) nego IE sa otvorenim istim brojem strana. Maxthon ima visoko integrisano i prilagodljivo radno okruženje, sa podrškom za skinove (maske, kože), plaginove (dodatke, priključke), IE dodatke, kao i neke specifične IE trake (toolbar).
Maxthon ima sve opcije koje ima IE, ali i mnogo dodatnih funkcija, kao što su:
